Get Lucky with Abhay Deol

You wouldn’t believe it if we told you, but Abhay Deol's new film is called Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye! We've seen it, and you should too when it releases this Friday.

This edge-of-seat dark comedy from Khosla Ka Ghosla director, Dibarkar Banerjee, follows the rise & fall of one Lucky, a middle class petty thief turned most-wanted criminal, rumored to have stolen over millions of rupees worth of TV's, stereos, bling & misc. useless loot from innocent Delhiites in the 1980s. His motto: what can't be bought can be stolen. If you liked Catch Me If You Can you'll definitely want to see this.

Ironically, Lucky's dilemma becomes his craving for respectability, the one thing he cannot steal.

Abhay Deol captures Lucky’s tortured desire with an understated but powerful performance, while veteran actors Paresh Rawal & Archana Puran Singh impress alongside newcomer Neetu Chandra.

Official movie extras and cast-crew blogs can be found at www.oyelucky.com

But wait, there’s still more to expect from this Deol next year. First, in Anurag Kashyap’s Dev D, which portrays Devdas for the mobile generation, and then, in Dev Benegal’s Road, Movie, a participant in the prestigious Atelier du Cannes, 2006.

Check your inbox for more on both films next month, including cast and crew interviews and special screenings, just for our FK readers.
